Our rockin' chair transformation thanks to "Rockin Cushions"

Updated: Nov 30, 2019

Furniture updates don't have to require purchasing a whole new piece of furniture.

Thanks to Michelle, owner and creator behind Rockin Cushions, I was able to discover this the easy way! Michelle has an incredible shop and handmade business. She makes and sells pillow cases as well as covers for IKEA furniture.

Looking through her site I couldn't believe how many unique and beautiful designs there were to choose from!

Looking to cover an old chair for a nursery? Give your living room piece of furniture a whole new look? Add some WOW to an outdated ottoman?

We were able to give my parents' aging IKEA Poang chair a new and refreshed look.

This is how our worn out chair looked before:

As you can see, the faux leather was looking sad and tired.

This chair has been in our family for a very long time. It's comfortable and has held up well over the years which is a big part of why we haven't gotten rid of it. However, it's been tucked away in a corner of the living room and not much of a spotlight...until Rockin Cushions stepped in!

We ordered the Mini Swiss Cross in black for both the chair and ottoman.

It was very easy to put on and the fabric is incredibly well made. There is a zipper for both pieces. The sewing details are meticulous!

I have two dogs and they shed A TON. At first I was worried about how quickly their hair would turn up on black fabric. However, I was pleasantly surprised when their fur easily brushed off this fabric.

The best part? The chair is somehow even more comfortable than it was before...not to mention 1000 times more stylish. I love the boho vibes it brings to this space.

Thank you, Michelle, for the easiest furniture update yet. Doggy and baby approved! To see even more of her amazing items for sale, head to her shop here or here.
